Cheverus High School won the Maine Class A State Championship on November 9 in a match against Brewer High School.
The Cheverus Stags have dominated high school field hockey play in Maine, boasting just one loss in the past four years. Thanks to a goal from Lucy Johnson, the Stags went up in the first half and held onto their lead for the second 30 minutes of play.
The final was 3-1. This is Cheverus’ third State Championship in the past four seasons.
